Before you arrive |
There is no membership or joining fees to use Thermae Bath Spa. Thermae Welcome, 2-hour spa sessions, can be pre-booked online by clicking the 'Book Now' button or by calling our Reservations team on 01225 33 1234. We have a limited number of spaces available to pre-book our Thermae Welcome package and additional spaces are available on the day called 'Walk-in Spa Sessions'. Our 2-hour spa sessions are very popular and we recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment. Entry on the day operates as a virtual queue where the next available slot is allocated until we reach capacity for the day. Thermae Welcome Vouchers can use be used to redeem a walk-in spa session on the day. Guests should book their spa treatment or Twilight package in advance by calling our Reservations team on 01225 33 1234. |

TimingsWhen you have made a booking, you will receive a booking confirmation with your arrival time displayed in the attachment on the email. Please arrive at your allocated arrival time. Additional time is provided if you use the Springs Cafe. An additional 15 minutes is also provided for changing and drying hair at the end of each spa session. Visits exceeding your allotted time will attract a charge of £10.00 per 30 mins. The time allocated to a treatment is in addition to the Thermae Welcome - e.g. a 2-hour spa session plus a massage = 2 hours 50 minutes. |
Swimwear & ClothingTowel and robe are included in the cost of a Thermae Welcome, treatment, and Spa Package. Swimwear should be worn in all public areas. We do not provide footwear and advise that you bring your own for use around the Spa. Please note that we also have slippers for sale. |
Children & Young PeopleIn the New Royal Bath, children under 16 are not permitted. In the stand-alone Cross Bath, children of 12 are permitted when accompanied by an adult or guardian on a 1:1 ratio. We regret that we do not offer spa treatments to young people under 18. Proof of age required. |
Pets & AnimalsWe cannot allow guests to bring pets or animals into the Spa. Please advise us in advance if you have a guide or assistance dog, so that appropriate arrangements can be made. |
Smoking, Liquids & AlcoholThermae Bath Spa and the outdoor terrace is a non-smoking establishment including e-cigarettes. Due to the natural warmth of the thermal waters and the heat of the steam rooms, we recommend strongly that you drink plenty of fluids during your visit. Water fountains are freely available. We advise against the excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks prior to or during your visit to the Spa. We reserve the right to refuse admission. Please do not bring glass bottles near either of our pools. |
Water ContentWe introduce a minimal amount of chlorine at 1.75-2.00ppm (parts per million) to our waters to uphold health and safety legislation in public bathing facilities. If you are interested in the contents of Bath's natural thermal waters, click here. |
Medical Conditions |
If you have a known allergy or suffer from a medical condition such as high blood pressure, diabetes or cancer within the last 5 years, please check with your doctor before booking and let us know of any conditions we should be aware of. We may ask that you sign a disclaimer before performing a treatment. |
PregnancyBased on medical advice, please be aware that we do not permit pregnant women to visit the Spa if they are past 32 weeks. If you are under 32 weeks, use of the spa facilities is at your own discretion, depending on your own personal medical situation. Please consult your doctor prior to your visit. We strongly advise you do not use the Wellness Suite or massage jets. After 12 weeks, any massage booked will be substituted for a Mum-to-be Massage or Facial. We do not offer treatments to anyone under 12 weeks pregnant. The most suitable spa facilities to use during pregnancy at Thermae Bath Spa would be:

Changing Facilities, Valuables & LockersThe changing suite is mixed. After changing in a private cubicle, there are lockers of limited size to store your clothes and personal belongings. The locker sizes are:
For security reasons, we cannot store large bags or suitcases. No responsibility can be accepted by Thermae Bath Spa for the safety of money or valuables, whether placed in a locker or not. Thermae Bath Spa will not be liable for damage, injury or loss caused to our guests or their belongings. Due to the mineral content of the thermal water, we advise that items of jewellery are kept in a locker whilst bathing. |
The Smart BandThe 'SmartBand' which is given to you on arrival at the Spa acts as the key for your locker and registers the times that you enter and exit the Spa. The SmartBand is also the means of ordering food or drink in the Restaurant, which is then payable on exit. Please note there is a £10 charge for the loss of a SmartBand. |
Mobile Phones & CamerasOut of respect for the privacy of all guests and the restful atmosphere which we are trying to promote, neither mobile phones nor cameras are permitted to be used in the Spa. Upon arrival, you will be asked to place your mobile phone inside a lockable pouch and place it inside your locker for the duration of your visit. CCTV is in operation in certain public areas of the spa. |
Spa EtiquetteOut of respect for the peace and privacy of our guests, we would request that you demonstrate appropriate behaviour, such as maintaining reasonable noise levels and not being too intimate. |
