1590	Queen Elizabeth I grants a Charter of Incorporation of the City of Bath.
1613	The New Bath renamed the Queen's Bath following the visit of Anne, the wife of James I, who visited Bath seeking a cure for her dropsy.
1624	Sir Francis Stonor 'received such an extraordinary cure by the hot waters' that he donated the balustrade which can be seen to this day on the east side of the King's Bath.
1634	Visit of Charles I.
1668	Visit of Samuel Pepys who bathed in the Cross Bath.
