South West Tourism Awards

THERMAE has won another award! While this is the fifth award we have won since opening, it is also one of the most prestigious.

The South West Tourism Excellence Awards, also known in the industry as the Tourism Oscars, aim to celebrate the best in the south west and aim to promote and reward the very best in tourism.

Thermae entered the Best Tourism Experience Award and won the silver. The Hotel and Extreme Academy, Watergate Bay, Cornwall swept the board, winning three golds in Thermae’s category, Large Hotel of the Year, and Taste of the South West. They also were awarded the Winner of Winners Award.

The Tresco Estate on the isle of Scilly also won a silver award in the same category.

Peter Rollins, Marketing Manager, said:”I am really pleased that we have done so well, particularly as we were in the same category as the Extreme Academy which was judged as the best overall. Many of the winners have the benefit of years of experience behind them, so it is fantastic that as such a young business, Thermae could compete on that level.”

In order to be considered for the award, Thermae underwent a rigorous judging process including giving a presentation and a ‘mystery shopper’ visit.

In the past year, Thermae has also won the following awards: Civic Trust - special ‘Access Award’; Georgian Society - Cross Bath; Ultras - Daily Telegraph voted by Ultratravel readers as Best Spa in the World; RIBA SW region Conservation Award – Cross Bath.
