Thermae Bath Spa shortlisted in the South West Tourism Awards

The Spa which opened on August 7 2006 has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Tourism Experience’ category.

More than 200 businesses from the tourism industry have been entered in the competition from all over the South West. There are 15 different categories, ranging from Bed & Breakfast to large Hotel and from Outstanding Customer Service to Accessible Tourism.

Thermae is expecting judges to visit at the end of August for a formal inspection, however a ‘mystery shopper’ will also pay a visit to the award winning spa between now and then

Marketing executive Charlotte Hanna said: “We are delighted that Thermae has been shortlisted for this prestigious award. As a new business we are always looking at ways to improve our facilities and services. Competitions like this act as a positive incentive for all our staff.“

The winners of the regional competition go on to represent the South West in the Enjoy England Awards of Excellence.

Earlier this year Thermae was voted Best Spa in the World by readers of the Daily Telegraph’s Ultratravel Magazine.

The South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2007/08 are in association with Enjoy England Awards of Excellence, First Great Western and South West Water.
